Therapy for Teens
The junior and senior years of high school are some of the most pressured years a young person navigates. College applications, academic performance, social dynamics, and the looming question of what comes next can converge in ways that feel overwhelming, even for teens who have always managed well.
I work with high school juniors and seniors who are bright and capable but struggling beneath the surface. Anxiety, perfectionism, intrusive thoughts, and the aftermath of difficult experiences don't wait for a convenient time. For many teens this is exactly when they surface.
My approach is evidence-based, structured, and direct. I use exposure and response prevention for OCD and anxiety, and trauma-focused approaches for teens carrying the weight of past experiences. I also have experience working with young people during major life transitions, including the transition to college where the stakes feel very high and the window for help is narrow.
For parents: I'm happy to answer questions about how I work and what involvement looks like. The consultation is a good place to start.
